Carmen Busquets, Peter Copping and Lanvin Celebrate Heritage and Artisan Craftsmanship at Her Paris Home .

Lanvin, its new Artistic Director Peter Copping, and the influential fashion-and-tech luminary Carmen Busquets joined forces to host an exclusive dinner celebrating Lanvin’s SS26 collection during Paris Fashion Week. The event was held on October 1st at Carmen’s private Paris residence, with Peter by her side, in honour of the designer’s showing. We caught up with the two to talk all things Lanvin — and desserts…

How did you assemble the illustrious guest list?

CARMEN: I know my friends well, especially when it comes to their fashion taste, so I knew exactly who would appreciate Peter’s exceptional work.

During such a frantic and landmark Paris season, how was it pulling together an intimate dinner?

CARMEN: I have been hosting intimate dinners at home during PFW for years now, so I'm used to the fast-paced nature of it. This season was a little bit more frantic, so I made sure the invitations went out extra early – by my standards anyway!

How do you celebrate the shared values between the Carmen Busquets Foundation and Lanvin Creations Speciales, dedicated to promoting artisans, craftsmanship, and creative expression?

CARMEN: By bringing together a wonderful group of people who appreciate these values and who embody the same quest for authenticity, excellence and perfection in their work and careers. The conversations around the table were wide ranging and most inspiring!

Tell us some highlights from the new Lanvin collection?

PETER: I particularly liked the prints. They were taken from embroideries in the archive which were then reinterpreted by fashion illustrator Tony Green. I also love the pieces contructed from ribbon for both men and women – Look 1 and 2 for women and 53 for men.

CARMEN: There were 6 looks that particularly caught my eye from the Spring 2026 collection which included a chic white satin coat, a red knit dress and a black, white and fluid red dress with geometric graphics and embroideries. They all had a 1920s Art Deco vibrancy about them whilst also feeling very now. I loved the silk headscarves that complemented each look, very elegant.

What is your favourite piece from the Lanvin archive?

PETER: I love so many, one favourite however is the robe Concerto from the 1930’s. It inspired an embroidered T-Shirt for men in my first show.

CARMEN: I was very lucky to be dressed by Peter for the dinner. He presented me with a few options and I chose to wear the black velvet dress and cape that he designed for his debut Fall 2025 collection for Lanvin. Capes are one of Jeanne Lanvin’s signature pieces, so it felt like an appropriate choice.

How do you celebrate the shared values between the Carmen Busquets Foundation and Lanvin Creations Specialties, dedicating to promoting artisans, craftsmanship, and creative expression?

PETER: The crafts people who make the clothes are incredibly important and it is something that I would love to celebrate going forward – especially the wonderful embroiderers, many in India, who worked on this collection. Their craftmanship is exceptional and they bring so much to the collection.

Who would be your favourite three guests to invite to a dinner party living or dead?

PETER: Jeanne Lanvin, Elizabeth Taylor & Andy Warhol

CARMEN: The living guests were all there, but it would have been fun to have Jeanne Lanvin join us and share her views – I hear she was quite the entrepreneur! I think Jean-Michel Basquiat would also have fitted in niecely, I can picture him wearing Peter’s relaxed tailoring and colorful prints.

What’s your favourite dessert?

PETER: Eton Mess

CARMEN: As long as it is fruit based and in season I am happy.

The spirit of a woman like Carmen is increasingly rare in today’s world. She is unabashedly generous, full of optimism and a desire to see progress — and I think she understands perfectly our mission at Lanvin to restore a novel chic and uncompromising quality to fashion. It was a pleasure and a privilege to share this evening together, on the heels of Peter’s second show for the house. The start of an enriching dialogue and a true friendship.” - Siddhartha Shukla
