The Perfect moments from 080 Barcelona Fashion Week.

080 Barcelona Fashion Week delivered everything from backless suits and hair to the gods to an invasion of rats on the runway. Here are the Perfect moments from this season.

Dominnico

Inspired by the concept of a supernova and the transformative power of reinvention, creative director Domingo Rodríguez Lázaro looked to pop icon Madonna for inspiration. Taking to the runway in colourful two-piece sets, with magazines tucked beneath their arms, models strutted their way down the catwalk with a very obvious Madge-esque attitude.

“In this collection, we have chosen a transgenerational icon such as Madonna and, through her aesthetic, her music and her album Confessions II, we wanted to pay homage to her and to the different eras she has had.” - Domingo Rodríguez Lázaro

Boltad

In a rodent invasion on the runway at Boltad, rats were perched on bags, attached to suspenders and even nestled in a model’s hair. Titled ‘Billy I: The Handsome One’, the collection explored reincarnation through the lenses of life and death, creating “a universe where you can go back to your past self and when you were 13 you were a character and you had an attitude.”

Laden with animal references, the collection drew inspiration from “the New York Yuppies”, with the purses representing “a Yuppie walking around Central Park” and the “little animals that you can find in Central Park”, from raccoons and rats to the Yuppie’s dog.

Outsiders Division

The concept behind Outsiders Division’s collection was “playful clothes made for adults”. Set against the collection’s title, ‘Groomed and Horny’, the contrast felt like stepping into the mind of creative director David Méndez Alonso, where childish play meets adult reality. The standout moment of the show? The backless suit… Sexy.

LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi

Paris based brand, Louis Gabriel Nouchi headed to Barcelona to present a special collection inspired by characters from Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar’s films: The Boss Lady, The Preppy and The Rebel. Gender fluidity was a recurring theme throughout, with the same looks reimagined on both male and female models. The ultimate goal? To make every model look “desirable”.

The week ended in true fashion week style, with a big party at Opposite Barcelona, complete with a projector screening all the shows from the season, an ice cream stand and drinks flowing. What more could you want to close out yet another perfect fashion week?
