The Perfect Holiday Part 2: Malta Edition with ME Malta!
We touched down at Malta International Airport and made the quick trip to the ME Malta hotel in St Julian’s. Designed by legendary architect Zaha Hadid, with spacious rooms, excellent sea views, a spa, and a rooftop that made the perfect base for exploring the island.
For our first evening, the hotel’s Radio Rooftop Izakaya restaurant provided the ideal spot for our first meal. Good company, great views and even better food, the perfect way to start the trip.
If you aren’t familiar with Malta, it’s a small island in the Mediterranean, south of Sicily, bringing together a rich mix of cultures. With over 300 days of sunshine a year, it makes the ideal destination for a holiday. With a myriad of things to do, from exploring the towns to relaxing on its beaches and even heading out on a boat trip.
We did exactly that. On the second day, we headed to the harbour to board a yacht and head out to sea, taking in the island from the water while exploring the Mediterranean Sea. We spent the day swimming, snorkelling and soaking up the sun on deck.
After a day at sea, we headed back to the hotel to freshen up and get ready for some delicious food. We dined at the Anima Rooftop Malta. Then we headed upstairs to the bar where we sipped champagne, wine and cocktails and debriefed from the day.
The third and final day started with breakfast at the hotel's delicious Luciano, before we explored the island's historic towns with a trip to Mdina and Valletta, which has served as the backdrop for countless films, from Gladiator and Troy to Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
Whether it’s relaxing at the ME Malta in the spa or by the pool, dining at the hotel’s two restaurants, or taking a dip in the Mediterranean, ME Malta really is the Perfect destination for a holiday.
