#PerfectDiaries: Bridgerton’s Charithra Chandran on her 24 hours in Mumbai and her favourite foodie recommendations.

The very first thing that Bridgerton’s Charithra Chandran does after stepping off the ten hour flight from London to Mumbai is to soak up the incredible Indian cuisine and her favourite dishes. The Scottish-born actress has taken our screens by storm, making her debut in the British spy thriller Alex Rider in 2021, and later embodying the spirit of Edwina Sharma in the Netflix blockbuster Bridgerton, cementing herself as one of the most exciting new faces across television. Coming from a proud Tamil Indian family, Chandran wanted to take us through her 24 hours in Mumbai, from the moment she sets foot on Indian soil, all the way to Dior’s Pre-Fall 23 show.

Capturing her time for #PerfectDiaries, Charithra Chandran takes us through her favourite foodie places in Mumbai, her perfect takeaway order and the preparations for the ultimate night out with Dior, with the help of her stylist Holly White.

20:00: From the second I got off the plane, I was desperate for some Mumbai street food. I can’t think of a better way to pre-game for a fashion dinner than India’s equivalent of Deliveroo to your hotel room.

21:00: My outfit for the Dior welcome drinks! I loved this because it felt reminiscent of a lehenga. I wanted to feel confident yet comfortable and something that would hold up in the heat.

21:30: We took over the Taj Mahal hotel! Such a friendly welcome drinks. Fashion shows can be intimidating so it’s really nice to make friends before the main event!

14:00: Day of the show and the meal before it all kicks off! It’s a long day so be sure to fuel yourself adequately. And that we did at Bombay Kitchen. I think we had 17 different dishes, all delicious and all exactly what I wanted before a fashion show.

16:30: Glam begins! Tunes on, snacks and drinks ordered, LET’S FUCKING GO!!

18:00: My outfit for the night - I wanted something that felt true to Dior and myself but also gave appreciation to India and it’s artisans. This dress was perfect for that!

18:30: Peep the jewellery! Again, a perfect collaboration between India and Dior. I have a million outfits planned for this necklace.

19:00: The glam: Dior is all about effortless femininity, and that’s what we wanted with the glam. Something that was suitable for the night but a cool girl effortless eye.

19:00: Sparkles galore!!! I’m ready to have a good night. I know I can dance the night away in these heels.

20:00: My skin never looks better that when I’m in India. I don’t know whether it’s the sunshine or the lighting or me being more comfortable, but I feel good!
