STEFANO PILATI IS THE NEWEST FRIEND OF FENDI

Kim Jones expands the glorious Fendi universe by bringing friends along to craft it. Staging a capsule collection for the brand, Pilati took Jones’s invitation to dive into the Fendi archives, taking a juxtaposed inspiration from the 1920s and 2020s with the archetype of “The Flapper” studied and explored in today’s context. Breaking upon the constricting gender norms from back in the day, the muse of today injects her own unique personality into the look, as silhouettes move to support with a sense of duality - feminine symbols meet masculine silhouettes into a myriad of inspiration.

Expressing the sheer joy of the process of designing for Fendi, Stefano Pilati looks at the Italian crossover of aesthetics. "Milano versus Roma: I am from Milan but there is a freedom in the Roman style that Milan does not have - there is always 'more'. This is a coming together of two worlds and I am so touched by the opportunity that Kim, Silvia and FENDI have given me to be so much myself while exploring theirs, the incomparable world of FENDI."
